Campground Insights - year 1.

Greetings Campers! Year 1 is in the books and we learned a lot! First off, thank you to those who ventured to give us a try. As an unknown entity, all we can ask for is brave souls to give us a try. And by the feedback we got, we are on the right track! We look forward to repeat and new customers in 2025!

We received good feedback from people who did not book with us also. People who inquired about facilities, tent spaces, group camping and more. In response, here are some updates to our operations for the upcoming season.

  • Group Camping - Many people have asked about group camping! We have made one adjustment to our large drive-thru sites to allow multiple campers on one site with a reduced rate for the second site. Please use the “add-on” feature when booking if you want to add a second camper to your site.

  • Tents - Until further notice, tents will only be allowed on sites where an RV is already in place. Tents will not be charged extra in those situations, but the tenters must be granted access to the RV on site for using bathrooms. There could be occasional special event weekends where a portable restroom system is provided and tenting will be allowed.

  • Public Restrooms/Showers WILL NOT be constructed for 2025. We will keep monitoring the situation and hopefully construct facilities sometime in the future as our customer base expands.

  • Trees will be strategically planted over the next few years. However, we will be mindful of creating too many obstacles as many customers are brining in big rigs and trailers. Too many trees limits the availability of parking trailers or ATV’s at the campsites.

Our guests in 2024 enjoyed a variety of experiences. They did everything from ATV riding, Bicycle Trips, Grouse Hunting, Concerts at Northern Lights Casino, Shopping, Dining, and Drinking in nearby towns, enjoying local town festivals, and even “Conquering the Muni” in Akeley. We look forward to hearing about many more experiences in 2025. We appreciate you considering Up North Retreats as a place to stay on your next camping adventure.

Stay Safe Everyone
